Many Americans have one or more missing teeth. Missing teeth can lead to a chain of events that leads to more tooth loss, changes in your bite, or changes in the appearance of your cheeks/lips. Dr. Roberts recommends a fixed bridge to fill in the gap of a missing tooth if an implant is not a good choice for you. Bridges are made by placing a crown on the tooth on either side of the missing space and a “fake” tooth/crown attached between two, filling in the space. The crowns will be tooth colored and look natural and you don’t have to remove the bridge. It does require extra care to keep the spaces clean. We recommend using a water pink and flossing with super floss, which is made especially for getting underneath the fake tooth in the bridge. Bridges usually replace 1-2 missing teeth in the same area.
