implantAn implant is the new standard of care to replace a missing tooth or multiple teeth. There are many kinds and sizes of implants but they basically all look like a screw and are made of titanium, which is very strong. The implant is actually screwed into the bone and the bone then grows into the threads of the implant and becomes fused with your own natural bone. This process takes about 4-6 months depending on your bone density. Placing the implant takes about an hour or less and is done with local anesthetic and you can return to work the next day. Once the implant is fused in the bone, an abutment is attached to the implant above the gum line and finished with a crown. Implants can also be used to retain a denture or partial so you don’t have to worry about them falling out and you don’t have to use adhesives or paste! Implants are very durable, never decay and you brush and floss them just like regular teeth. And best of all, you don’t take your implant out at night like a denture, it is a permanent solution to a missing tooth!

Implants are a state of the art way to replace a missing tooth/teeth.
