Whitening for the Holidays!

Are you interested in whitening your teeth for the holidays, but want to know more before making the commitment? You’ve come to the right place! Here at Magnolia City Dental we use the Opalescence BOOST Whitening system, it is a 40% hydrogen peroxide solution, that also contains potassium nitrate which has been proven to help reduce sensitivity, and fluoride which has been shown to help reduce caries and strengthen enamel. It is administered in office and you will have results before you leave!

HOW TO PREPARE FOR WHITENING:

Have a professional cleaning and check-up, this will remove any build- up and plaque from your teeth and allow for better results.
Determine initial tooth color, we will do so at your appointment

THE PROCESS:

Before pictures will be taken
We will take impressions for custom take home whitening trays
Bite rest will be placed for patient comfort
We will then place an OpalDam barrier to insure that the substance will not reach the gum tissue
Whitening substance will be placed onto teeth for two 20-minute applications for a total of 40 minutes of treatment time.
Substance will be removed from teeth, as well as the barrier and bite rest
A fluoride treatment will be done
After pictures will be taken
3-5 days later your custom whitening trays and a tube of bleach will be ready for pick up. These can be used at home for touch -up whitening, and additional bleach can be purchased here at our office!

OTHER OPTIONS:

Don’t have the time to have in office bleaching done? Another option is to have custom bleach trays made, and Opalescence is available for purchase for at home whitening. This will take about 30 minutes in office and you will have your trays within 3-5 days.

At our office we also offer professional strength Crest whitening strips. These are worn at home twice daily. It is a 21 day system, and you are instructed to wear the strips twice daily for 30 minutes each time. These can be purchased by just simply stopping by our office.
